The inner comprises of three materials. A fully waterproof ‘bathtub’ floor, a fine taffeta like screen material for privacy and reducing drafts when sleeping and a mesh upper to ventilate and keep the tent cool. The mesh upper works in conjunction with the two opposite doors with two way zips and additional vents in the fly sheet to keep the Hubba Hubba cool in the summer and reduce condensation.

Why do I need a Footprint? -- The MSR Footprint offers greater protection for the underside of your Hubba Hubba tent on rocks, gravel and gritty, sandy or rough surfaces. The footprint takes the wear & tear instead of the tent floor which could add many extra years to the life of your tent. The Footprint helps to keep your tent clean in muddy conditions and allows more set up options for the Hubba Hubba (see secondary photos). The Footprint can also be used as a 'mini-tarp' which can be laid out on wet grass for picnics, wrapped over rucksacks or other gear to keep them dry, or strung up between trees to provide a rain shelter or to provide shade on hot days.

Editors Comments:
The Hubba series has been around for several years now and has seen small tweaks and modifications year on year, including less obvious, but vitally important changes in material technologies. I'm slightly surprised the NX isn't named the EVO or Evolution.
The key features of the NX are the same as previous Hubba Hubba models, namely the double doors and double vestibule, non-tapered floor plan and trans-axial pole in the roof. That means getting in and out of the tent is easy and you don't have to clamber over your companion to get out, there is plenty of room for boots and packs outside the living area and the walls and ceiling are supported so there is plenty of head and shoulder room to sit up in. If you need to extend your NX, then there is the after market Hubba Gear Shed that fixes to the side to make an extra large porch.
The new NX incorporates non-drip rain gutters around the doors, extra tough infinity loop stitching in key areas, newly designed tensioning straps and loads of quality touches, but what you are going to appreciate most is the reduction in weight and pack size.
The NX when fully packed with all components and including a few manufacturer's tags and labels, weighs in at 1701 grams on the EMS office scales, or 850 grams per person if you split the load. The pack is slightly square and measures approximately 46x11x18cm. The square pack is also going to please people who need to pack it into bike panniers.

The three season rating is a Three Season U.S. rating. The States can see some fairly heavy snowfall in early Spring, so with the exception of the occasional freak storms we sometimes get with very high winds the NX should be fine all year round in the U.K. Additional guy lines are recommended for very windy conditions and winter use.
I wasn't too keen on last year's grey/white colour, so I'm really pleased to see the green model is not just in green, but a nice mid-dark mossy green. Looks like this might be the backpacking tent to beat.

FAQ - Which version of the Hubba Hubba NX is this?
This is the 2018 Hubba Hubba NX version seven (V7), which is the only version available in the UK and Europe for 2022 and 2023.   There are two colours available, green and grey, with a separate listing for each colour.  It has aluminium poles and it has fully tape sealed seams, so it is 100% waterproof, with no sealing or treatments required.

FAQ - Is there a specific footprint the Hubba Hubba NX?
The HHnx specific footprint was discontinued and replaced with the MSR  'Universal' Footprint  (two person-Regular), which can be can be used in the same way to facilitate the 'Fast & Light' setup or ‘fly first’ pitching.
You can tie two overhand knots in the footprint’s corner cords and leave a small gap between the knots as a location hole for the pole ends.  You could use the inner tent as a template to find the correct positions.

FAQ - Do I need any other accessories for the Hubba Hubba NX?
The HHnx is ready to go straight out of the box without any additions.  However, for soft soils we recommend four larger pegs to go on the guy lines. For example, the MSR Groundhog or similar.
We hope you’ll never need an emergency pole splint, but we recommend one as an addition, just in case.  MSR Pole Splints are lightweight and can be stored in your peg bag in case of emergency.

FAQ – How do I store my Hubba Hubba NX?
When on a trip, give the flysheet a good shake and most of the water will come off.  You don’t need to dry your tent if you are going to use it again later that day.  When you get back from your trip its imperative that your tent is thoroughly dried out before storing it.  If possible suspend it as you would laundry for a couple of days and check it is dry before packing.
A good way to pack your tent is to scrunch it loosely into a net bag or drop it loosely into an open box with a few coin sized air holes in each side.  It can then be stored at room temperature or in a cool location.  Your tent can be used in any temperature, but prolonged storage in hot locations such as an attic space or airing cupboard is not recommended.

All orders placed before 2.45pm Monday to Friday will be shipped the same day.
Orders placed after 2.45pm will be shipped the next business day.
Orders placed after 2.45pm Friday will be shipped on Monday.

EMS is a Plastic Free Retailer
From 1st June 2019 no new plastic has been used in any order shipments.
We now use recycled craft paper wadding, paper based adhesive tape, card boxes with recycled content and double wall paper bags for all of our order shipments. No new plastic is used at all.
We'll continue to reuse the bubble wrap and other plastic packing materials our suppliers send to us as reusing is still better than recycling.

All UK orders with a value of £60.00 or more are delivered FREE via 'Royal Mail 48 Tracked' post and should arrive in three to five working days.

For small orders of £59.99 or less we charge a very reasonable flat rate of just £5.00 using the same 'Royal Mail Tracked 48' service.

Premium Shipping Service Options:

If you would like your order delivered quickly via a premium service several options will be available at checkout.

'Royal Mail Tracked 24' costs £8.00 Delivery usually takes one to three working days.

DPD Next Day Courier Service costs £8.00. Your order is tracked and will arrive next Business day.

All UK Mainland orders over £195 are delivered FREE via DPD Next Business Day Courier. (Some Scottish Highland and offshore postcodes may be excluded and delivery to remote areas may take longer, but the delivery service will still be free of charge).

Shipping UK - Offshore:

If your order has a value over £60 then you still qualify for free shipping but there is not a next business day courier option.  Please allow two to four days for all deliveries. 

Shipping costs - E.U. and Rest Of World

All exports have been temporarily suspended until the covid situation and associated difficulties with stock and staff have improved.

The EMS website now has ‘Smart’ currency and sales tax (V.A.T.) function which automatically displays the most appropriate currency for your location and includes the V.A.T. for UK and European Union delivery destinations, but removes the V.A.T. for all ‘Rest of World’ delivery destinations (including Channel Islands).

Out Of Stock Items:

Out of stock items are marked as out of stock on the product page, however on very rare occasions situations beyond our control may result in an item(s) being temporarily unavailable.

For Items that are no longer available we endeavour to remove from our website as quickly as possible.

You will be contacted by email or telephone concerning any item(s) we are unable to supply. Out of stock items marked to follow will be sent automatically when they become available. We do not make additional charges for this service. In any case, we aim to deliver goods within a maximum time frame of no more than 7 days from receipt of order. If we are unable to do this, you will be contacted to make arrangements for any necessary refund to be issued.

In line with current health and safety guidelines, we reserve the right to refuse any items that are (for whatever reason) not returned to us in a clean and hygienic condition.

Goods with manufacturing faults can be returned for a full refund (including delivery and standard return postal charges of up to £7.50) if the item, after later inspection by us, is proven to have been faulty and returned to us within 30 days from the date of purchase.

Please check all goods on arrival to ensure they have not been damaged in transit and report any damaged goods as soon as possible after receipt and within 14 days.

Please email or call and ask us which return service to use as we can only refund for the service we recommend.

Please note that inflatables such as sleeping mats are not considered as faulty if they become punctured during use and are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty in this event.

If the goods have been supplied as requested but are unwanted they can be returned within 30 days from receipt of goods for a full refund provided they have not been used and are in a resealable condition with all of the manufacturer's labels and packaging intact.

Items ordered in November or December as Christmas presents can be returned to us at any time in January.
If you would like to exchange for an alternative size we will supply replacements subject to stock availability. You will have to pay to have the goods sent back to us, but we won’t charge you any shipping for your first replacement item.

All items returned must be unused and with their original labelling and packaging intact (unless faulty).

How To Send Returns.

1). You will need a returns number and a returns address. Please use the 'Contact Us' form from the 'Contact Us' page (found in the footer of this page). Send us your order number and reason for return. We will issue a returns number and returns address for one of our UK warehouses.  (Please Don't ship your returns to our office address in Cheltenham as we don't keep any stock there and there might not always be someone there to sign for your package).

2). For New and Unused returns please include all the Manufacturer's Packaging and Labels, otherwise we can't return the item to stock.

3). Carefully pack the product so it survives its journey and send it to the address we provide. We recommend a postal service with a signature on receipt.
