Beal presents the Unicore Golden Dry 50m Ice line two rope set, the very lightest double rope for mixed and ice climbing.
The Beal Ice Line has an extremely low impact force which is excellent news for less-than-perfect belay points in ice and on mixed routes.
A low impact force means that the load on your protection and surrounding ice is reduced and less likely to loosen or pull away from the face. A trump card that no alpinist can ignore.
Already considered to be the must-have rope for ice climbers and expert alpinists alike for its extreme fluidity and very low impact force, ICE LINE is henceforward available with the new UNICORE technology.
Thanks to adherence of the core and sheath, ICE LINE benefits from extra security - indispensable on thin rope.
STRONGS POINTS :
• The weight and free-running of twin rope plus the advantages of a double rope.
• Ultra low impact force.
• The rope doesn't bunch and stays flexible for the long term.
• Has all the advantages of the UNICORE technology.

Every filament of the sheath and the core of 'Golden Dry' ropes is treated with a water repellent chemical before the rope is manufactured. This chemical covering is polymerised at high temperature. The durability of this treatment is given by the polymerisation, but also because of the individual treatment of each filament before the rope is made. A Golden Dry rope is a rope with the core Dry treated, and a sheath of Dry Cover.
Key features of Golden Dry
• Very limited weight gain in wet conditions.
• Prevents the rope thickening too much.
• Improved rope-running through karabiners and belay devices.
• Improved abrasion resistance in normal climbing use.
• Lifetime = Time of storage before first use + time in use.
• The working life depends on the frequency and the type of use.
• Abrasion, UV exposure and humidity gradually degrade the properties of the rope.
• Note that with use, a rope thickens and thus loses up to 10 % length.
• Storage time : In good storage conditions this product may be kept for 5 years before first use without affecting its future lifetime duration in use.
Working Lifetime :
The potential lifetime of this product in use is 10 years.
Attention : This is only a potential lifetime, a rope could be destroyed during its first use. It is the inspections which determine if the product must be scrapped more quickly. Proper storage between uses is essential. The lifetime of the rope in use must never exceed 10 years.
The total maximum lifetime (storage before use (5 years) + lifetime in use (10 years) is thus limited to 15 years.
Covid 19 Information for UK deliveries
Please be assured that EMS is open for business and Royal Mail & DPD are still making deliveries.
DPD next day and Saturday delivery services are still operating normally, but Royal Mail deliveries have been delayed in some areas by several days.
The DPD 'Pick Up Shop' network is temporarily closed. This won't effect normal deliveries, but there might not be an option to collect from your local DPD pickup point.

In compliance with Government Guidelines we have reduced our active staff to just one person working alone to process orders. Other members of staff are still working from home to answer email and phone enquiries.
