Beal Beal is a small family enterprise employing 45 people, situated in Vienne, France. Despite its modest size, Beal is the world’s premier manufacturer of climbing and industrial ropes.
Originally working closely with Yannick Seigneur, then with Patrick Edlinger, the story of BEAL ropes has been marked by passion and research. Beal has been at the heart of the development of modern climbing techniques since the 1980’s. It’s the development of rope dynamics, requested by climbers who started to accept falling as a fact of life when pushing their grade, which allowed them to be liberated from painful landings! Thus freed from this psychological "brake", they could focus all their energy on the movement of climbing, leading to a spectacular and unrelenting improvement in grades which continues to this day. All Beal ropes are known for their excellent handling and low impact forces.
